   I used to use one of these to record my band in the late 80’s in the UK. It had a “mixing mic” input which mixed the input of the mic into a dubbing from one tape to another, so in effect you could layer tracks ( didn’t have enough dough for a fourtrack ). Was great fun but obviously lost loads of quality on each layer. I melted it in the end in front of an electric bar heater in my bedsit but it was repaired ( lol repaired , imagine that in this day and age ) fond memories

   Yeah This was the box of the 80’s. I would walk with this radio all over playing hip hop in Harlem N.Y. we would play music like B.D.P., M.C.Shan and the juice crew, Kool G Rap etc. I really miss those days. They dont make portable boxes like they used to. Those were the days….

   haha this band called a cursive memory has the exact same ghetto blaster, i saw it on their music video. theyre a pretty good band.

    Yo this is straight up 80’s , being a radio raheem myself , i collected a different box every so often to be the flyest on tne block. This one is the real deal with that imitator inspiring design- I’ll say about a dozen models came out sportin’ the 4 woofers. Bet people forgot about the similar but not as supped-up Sharp 747, exactly as the 777, but no woofer volume, and had a blue inset in the station dial.
    90 watts pmpo, aint forgot the so called power

    You have to love the old style boomboxes! I have started a little collection just this past year. I have to say they are all pretty cool if there from the late 70’s to 80’s, just amazing what got our attention back then - still can today.

    No matter whats playing from RUN DMC to REO SPEEDWAGON - Keep rocking GF - 777Z and friends :)

    I first saw this box on RUN DMC’s album cover. A few years later I put one on lay a way at Gordon Brothers Electronics here in Syracuse, New York. I paid $299.00 for it and I still have it. It was my back seat kicker box when I used mom’s car to ride around Chilin in. Takes 10 D Batteries so I had to buy a DC Adapter from Radio Shack to power it from the cars cigarette lighter. We use to rock on Marshall Street on Syracuse University back in the days. People that saw it couldn’t believe it and was amazed by it. I even DJ’d a few house parties with it. At one time I put some silver Radio Shack 2″ x 6″ Piezo Horn Tweeters on top with yellow, green and red LED’s in the tweeter screw holes. My box was the bomb! Now my GF777 is Chilin on top of my car subwoofer box that I made, It houses 2 - 8″ Kicker Subwoofers. I have the subwoofer output jacks from the box plugged in to the subwoofer speaker terminals. The box has separate subwoofer (L and R) controls which lower or boost the subwoofer output. It also has a mic input with echo control. This was the top of the line in Boom Boxes. Yeah, great memories of the 80’s. When Hip Hop was real! Hip Hop is New York City. That’s where it belongs. Please bring back the beat!

    yes i had two of same exact Sharp GF 777 Z Boombox models,
    as i had collected them in the past when was young,
    i sold one but still have one more,
    i originally wanted to keep one,
    though if the offer is fair i would consider selling it.

    Hi Eric,what country are you in ? i love the 777,but i really want a GF999,the japanese only model…anyone who wants a 777,just go on ebay,its flooded with them,right now there is 12 on ebay…

    another real classic boombox. not as well made as the jvc m90 or m70 but a great looking big monster.
