15 Blade Runner Buildings

Bladerunner - so where are we now? Particularly where are all the artsy animated building facades?

Here are 15 of our favorites, avoiding Vegas style tacky glitz. We have tried to include some of the more recent architectural projects where the media skin is part of the design itself, rather than merely a billboard. Media skins are often designed by specialist firms in concert with the main architect, such as Berlin’s, excellent, Realities United, who worked on several of these projects.

Treehugger has a good roundup of the building.
"Cell Phone Disco is a surface that visualizes the electromagnetic field of an active mobile phone. Several thousand lights illuminate when you make or recieve a phone call in the vicinity of the installation."
Like many of these schemes, the media element itself was designed by Realities United.
This may not be a media facade per se, but the slow sweeping ripples generate effects beyond any of the giant screen buildings.
Note the accidental illusion that makes this photo look trapezoidal.
Worth checking out the video on the Flare site. The example building is awful, but the wall system itself is very interesting.
