__SPACER__ This montage by Julee Holcombe illustrates what is often overlooked as a modern babel - the hill of skyscrapers at the Southern tip of Manhattan, around wall street. Instead of one building, the collection of antique decorative spires forms a shape that is reminiscent of the image of babel.
__SPACER__ A project in the 30s to rebuild the palace of the Soviets shows how the culture had regressed when compared to Tatlins innovative futurist, babel inspired tower. Work on this fascist monstrosity, which included its own research labs and factories continued to the end of the 40s, but it lost momentum due to the second world war and was never completed.
