2007 countdown clocks
This year saw the appearance of New Years style countdown clocks for the iPhone, Vista, Halo 3, the end of the world and the end of Bush’s presidency next year.
Strangely, with the man behind 24’s famous countdown clock doing 48 days jail time, its amazing that nobody has whipped up a ‘48′ countdown in the style of 24. Yet.

After the total frenzy surrounding the iPhone, the people outside Apple stores, waiting for any other product seems just a bit odd.
Amazingly nobody has done the obvious - a Kiefer Sutherland 48 countdown clock. <p /><p />As the countdown to the New Year begins, our half Canadian (snicker) hero, Jack Bauer is unfortunately in jail for 48 for drunk driving.
If the Wii is the politically correct platform, the XBox, largely because of Halo 3 is the gaming device for NRA cadrholders. <p /><p />The frenzy around its launch in Manhattan was reminiscent of New Year.
Strains on the economy started to show this year along with the ticking timebomb of baby boomer retirees. <p /><p />Perhaps this retirement countdown clock should look like a fuse.

Earlier this year, after Vancouver, ahem, erected its countdown clock for the winter Olympics in 2010, gay Vancouvrians came up with this proposal for a Gay Pride Countdown.
Early in the year we saw a lackluster launch of the long awaited Microsoft Vista, under the tagline: The Wow Starts Now.<p /><p />The launch included countdown clocks in Times Square.<p /><p />Given the reaction, including a resounding thumbs down by several top journalists, the tagline might as well have been: <p /><p />The Yawn Dawns
