best halloweenerd costumes

Halloweenerdy is a term often used to refer to costumes favored by geeks. These costumes appear at events such as Sci-Fi conventions, Burning man and, of course, Halloween. Halloween is like Burning Man but without the corrosive dust, a perfect excuse to spend three and a half thousand hours building a hollywood quality prop and to gawk at co-workers in marketing, wearing bondage gear.

Some people think women with husky voices are sexy. Wait till you’ve heard a Vader woman in spray on latex and needle point heels. Am I the only person that thinks that these photos look like she desperately needs a pee?
In the original Alien, Ripley unwittingly summons the monster with ‘here kitty kitty’. This seems appropriate for this costume which is a hybrid of cat woman and the alien.
Like a true obsessive, this costume was not actually made for a Halloween costume. The Tron guy ranks along with Mahir and the Numa Numa singer as someone who became one of the classic Internet memes.
This guy (we feature three of his creations) is a perfect example of the 3000 hours in the garage type. the end result is absolutely unbelievable and he has become a legend on the internet, over the years.
Google founder Larry and Sergei are always going on about how they hired Eric Schmidt cos he went to Burning Man. The reason why you never see pictures of them there is because they go in disguise. The ball guy is in fact Eric Schmidt, which is why the colors are all the Google ones.
What I like most about these types of pictures is how the lighting and background of convention centers creates the blandest of all backdrops for the parades of people in truly bizarre costumes, such as this celebrated crossover Elvis.
This work of art is over nine feet tall.
What I love so much about this photo is how the pose, the background, the kid leaning into the shot, are like any other driveway snapshot - except there is a GIANT YELLOW ROBOT bang in the middle.
Of the 3.5 million iPod costumes, this one is of particular build quality. The sneakers even look like the ones that Steve Jobs wears.
This is a great update to the cardboard box robot, being made out of those styrene packing moulds which do indeed have a space look.
Why is this guy dressed as 3 Wiis and why does he look like Albert Einstein behind a mask?
Although this is absolutely nothing like the Bioshock original, the pose is just right. Which is why it goes in the list.
